This Privacy Notice explains how Pragmatic Disruptor LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information about you when you visit our website, PragmaticDisruptor.com (the "Site"), or use our software applications, including our Chrome, Edge, and Firefox Browser Extensions, our Markdown2PDF Editor (online), and our Markdown2PDF desktop application for Windows (collectively, the "Service").

2. Information We Collect

We collect information through three primary channels:

A. Information You Provide Directly We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you register an account, subscribe to a newsletter, or submit a contact form. This includes:

• Identity Data: First Name, Last Name.

• Contact Data: Email address, Phone number.

• Address Data: Physical Address, City, State, Zip Code.

B. Transaction and Payment Data Our Site includes eCommerce functionality. All financial transactions are processed through our third-party service provider, Wix eCommerce.

• Payment Processing: When you provide credit or debit card information, it is collected and processed directly by Wix.

• Data Isolation: Pragmatic Disruptor LLC does not see, store, or have access to your full credit card numbers or CVV codes. We only receive transaction confirmations and the associated contact/shipping information necessary to fulfill your order.

C. Browser Extension Specific Data Our Chrome, Edge, and Firefox Browser Extensions are designed to process data with minimal collection:

• Permissions: Extensions may request permissions (e.g., permissions are used for search (where applicable), storage, and declared network access for weather/news/proxies) to perform technical tasks. These are used only to enable the Extension's features.

• Non-Retention: Unless explicitly stated for a specific feature, our Extensions do not collect or transmit your browsing history, keystrokes, or personal passwords to our servers.

• On-Device Processing: Where possible, data is processed locally on your machine to ensure maximum privacy.

D. Automatically Collected Information We automatically collect certain usage data, such as your IP address, browser type, and how you interact with our Site, to improve user experience and ensure site security.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Fulfill Orders: Process transactions and deliver digital or physical products.

• Support and Maintenance: Respond to inquiries and ensure our software tools function correctly.

• Communications: Send administrative updates or marketing materials (where you have opted in).

• Security: Detect and prevent fraudulent transactions or unauthorized access.

4. Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share information only with:

• Service Providers: Third-party vendors who assist with hosting (Wix), payment processing (Wix eCommerce), analytics (Google Analytics), and static hosting used to deliver certain web applications linked from the Site (for example, the Markdown2PDF Editor online). Those hosts may process standard technical logs such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps as part of delivering the page.

• Legal Compliance: If required by law or in response to a valid legal request.

• Business Transfers: In the event of a merger or sale of assets, your data may be transferred as a business asset.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies to manage your shopping cart, remember your preferences, and analyze site traffic. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, though some eCommerce features may not function as intended without them.

6. Data Security and Retention

We utilize reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data. We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to provide our Services, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes.

8. Markdown2PDF (Online Editor and Desktop App)

Markdown2PDF is designed for on-device document work with minimal collection.

A. What we do not collect through Markdown2PDF

We do not operate a backend that receives, stores, or indexes your Markdown source, logos, disclaimers, print titles, or generated PDFs for the Markdown2PDF products. We do not embed third-party analytics or advertising trackers in the Markdown2PDF online editor or desktop application for feature-usage profiling.

B. Information stored on your device

Preferences and content you enter may be stored locally on your device so the product can restore your work, including: Markdown drafts; branding (header/footer logos and related layout choices); disclaimer text; print-title settings; page-guide settings; UI layout preferences; and, in the desktop app, open-document session state and a list of recently opened file paths. Cleared drafts, cleared site data (online), uninstalling the desktop app, or using in-product clear controls removes that local data subject to your browser or operating system.

C. Online Editor

The Markdown2PDF Editor online is a static web application linked from the Site. Document conversion and PDF export are performed in your browser. Standard website/server logs may be created by the third-party static host that delivers the application, as described under Sharing and Disclosure.

D. Desktop Application (Windows)

The downloadable Markdown2PDF installer and application run on your computer. Opening, saving, and exporting files use your local disk (and folders you choose). Optional Help menu links open pages on the Site (product overview, this Privacy Notice, and contact) in your default browser.

E. Optional logo image URLs

If you paste a logo image URL, your browser or the desktop app may request that image from the third-party host of that URL so it can display in the preview. That host may see a request for the image. Uploading a logo file from your device keeps that image local unless you also choose to use a remote URL.

F. Purchases

Purchases of the downloadable product are processed through Wix eCommerce as described in Transaction and Payment Data above.

9. My Start Page Extension - Store-Specific Disclosures (Chrome, Edge, and Firefox)

In compliance with Google Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons, and Mozilla Add-ons policies:

• We confirm that any data processed by our extensions is used only to provide the extension’s functionality.

• We do not sell user data to third parties, and we do not use it for personalized advertising or for lending purposes.

• Local storage: Extensions such as My Start Page store your preferences and content—including bookmarks, custom search engines, RSS feed addresses, to-do items, weather location selections, layout settings, and background customizations—primarily on your device using your browser’s local storage (for example, chrome.storage.local / the browser’s equivalent). We do not operate our own backend for this data, and we do not store your full settings database on our servers.

• Separate from your stored content, anonymous feature-usage analytics may be sent to Google Analytics as described above.

• Network use (exceptions): Some features require outbound network requests from your browser. Those requests are not uploads of your entire settings file to us; they are limited to what is needed for the feature, as follows:

  • RSS / Atom news: If a feed cannot be loaded directly, the extension may request feed content through one or more third-party CORS or relay services (for example, public CORS proxies or rss2json) depending on browser and feed. In those cases, the feed URL you entered may be visible to that third party for the purpose of retrieving the feed. Article titles and links are shown in the extension after fetch; we do not use them for advertising. The RSS News widget may fetch feeds from the user’s configured list in the background while the new tab is open and the widget is visible, to reduce wait time when switching feed tabs. Only URLs the user added or kept in settings are requested. Parsed headlines and links may be cached locally in the browser session (not transmitted to our servers). Background fetching pauses when the tab is not visible.

  • Weather: Location search and forecasts use Open-Meteo public endpoints. The extension does not embed an Open-Meteo API key. Queries are sent as needed for geocoding and weather data.

  • Bookmark favicons: The extension may request favicon images from Google’s public favicon service using the site hostname derived from each bookmark URL, so that hostname may be visible to Google for that request.

• Analytics: We do not embed third-party analytics or advertising trackers in the extension for the purpose of profiling users.​

10. My Start Page Extension  - Usage Analytics

• Starting with extension version 1.0.12, the My Start Page browser extension uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how often features are used so we can improve the product.

• What is collected

  • Anonymous usage events may be sent to Google when you use the extension, including:

    • When you open a new tab (My Start Page loads)

    • When you interact with certain widgets (for example: switching an RSS feed tab, setting a weather location, adding or completing a to-do item, editing sticky notes, clicking a bookmark link, or adding an item to the Reading Queue)

• These events may include non-identifying technical information such as:

  • A random identifier assigned to your browser profile (to count repeat use, not to identify you by name)

  • Extension version, general language/locale, and screen size

  • Generic labels such as which widget was used and what type of action occurred (for example, “news – feed tab”)

• What is not collected through analytics

  • We do not send the following to Google Analytics:

    • Search queries

    • Bookmark URLs or titles

    • RSS feed URLs, feed names, or article links

    • Sticky note text or titles

    • Reading Queue URLs or titles

    • Weather location names or coordinates

    • Your settings, layout, backups, or other content stored locally in the extension

• Where data goes: Analytics data is processed by Google LLC as a service provider. It is sent to Google’s servers (for example, google-analytics.com). We do not receive or store your personal start-page content on Pragmatic Disruptor, LLC servers.

• Your locally stored data (bookmarks, notes, settings, wallpapers, etc.) remains on your device as described elsewhere in this notice.

• Google’s role: Google may process IP address and device/browser information as part of providing analytics services, and may use data as described in Google’s Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy

• How to limit analytics: The extension does not currently offer an in-product analytics opt-out. You may limit or block network requests to Google Analytics using browser, network, or extension privacy tools. If we add an opt-out control in a future version, we will update this notice.

We may update this Privacy Notice to reflect changes in our software or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by updating the date at the top of this page.
