Markdown2PDF Overview
Turn Markdown into clean, print-ready PDFs — in the browser or on Windows.
Markdown → PDF Editor helps you open or paste Markdown, preview exactly what you’ll print, add branding (logo, title, disclaimer), and export a PDF. Use the free web app anytime, or install the Windows desktop app for one-click Export PDF and native Open / Save.

Install instructions
-
Click Download for Windows (ZIP with Setup file inside) and save the file (usually to Downloads).
-
Unzip the file to Downloads
-
Open the Setup file. If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info, then Run anyway.
(This can appear because the installer is not yet code-signed, and you can learn more below. The app is from Pragmatic Disruptor, LLC.) -
If prompted by User Account Control, choose Yes.
-
Follow the installer: pick a folder (or keep the default), then finish.
(Note: default is your "C:\Users\[user-name]\AppData\Local\Markdown2PDF" where the "[user-name]" is your Windows user name when you setup your Microsoft account. You can also change to another location, but I don't recommend adding it to C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86). If you want a Program folder, I suggest using C:\Programs for custom software.) -
Start Markdown2PDF Editor from the Start menu or desktop shortcut.
-
Open a .md file (or paste Markdown), set logo/title if you like, then click Export PDF.
-
You can pin the extracted file to Taskbar or Start (mine is already pinned to Start)
About the security warning
Windows may warn on first run because this release is not digitally signed with a paid code-signing certificate. That does not mean the file was altered in transit from our site — it means Microsoft has not yet assigned publisher reputation to this installer. Choose More info → Run anyway if you downloaded it from this page.
What is the code-signing certificate, and why don't I have one?
Software installation certificates (code-signing certificates) cryptographically verify who wrote a program and prove the code has not been tampered with. Standard Organization Validation (OV) certificates cost $120 to $400 per year, while higher-trust Extended Validation (EV) options cost $280 to $700+ annually. Small developers such as Pragmatic Disruptor LLC often delay buying them due to the high costs and complex identity checks.
If you're uncomfortable proceeding with the local install, then please use the Online Version.
